Percy Jackson is a combination of both good and bad executed with mediocrit.Despite a few shortcomings, it's 90% positive reviews, not a dining experience, but an epic journey worth embarking on.

The Plot:
The series follows the same storyline as the movie, which received criticism for deviating from the source material. However, the series sticks closely to the original story, albeit with a few new characters that don't add much value. Percy, a demigod suspected of stealing Zeus' lightning bolt, is revealed to be the son of Poseidon. Zeus threatens war against Poseidon if the bolt isn't returned within a certain time frame. Percy, along with two companions, embarks on a quest to prevent the war between gods by journeying to the underworld.

The Good:
The series elevates many elements to an 8, including the portrayal of demons, the Lotus Hotel, and the locations in the underworld, which are far superior to the movie. Unlike the movie's comedic tone, the series takes a more serious approach to its subject matter. The exploration of Percy's bond with his mother adds depth to the story, although it could have been more impactful. Leah Jeffris delivers a commendable performance as Annabeth Chase, while Aryan Simhadri's portrayal of Grover elicits mixed feelings. Despite my reservations, the series has garnered high reviews and ratings, indicating that many viewers are enjoying it more than I did.

The Bad:
While the series improves upon the movie in terms of set design and tone, it falls short of my expectations for a fresh take on the story. Although the characters are more fleshed out, they fail to resonate as deeply as I had hoped. Despite the series' superior execution, I found the fight scenes in the movie more gripping and suspenseful. Additionally, the high-pitched voice of the actor portraying Percy was initially distracting.

Overall:
Is Percy Jackson and the Olympians worth binge-watching? Certainly. Those who haven't seen the movie will likely enjoy it, and it offers a standard of production that is appealing by today's standards.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐"
