Netflix's " REBAL MOON " Movie Non-Spoiler Review:

. "Rebal Moon: A Galactic Odyssey Hits and Misses.

"Rebal Moon" is a movie aimed at rewriting Star Wars and overtaking the space war, but its execution falls short of the mark.

THE PLOT:

Cora, an exiled soldier, lives on the moon and assists a local village in farming.

The ruling Mother World, which governs the galaxy, pays a visit and establishes an outpost for their soldiers to monitor the crops needed to feed their troops.

With soldiers stationed at the outpost and their behavior making war inevitable, Cora tries to suppress her feelings and desires to escape but finds herself unable to.

She must fight for the people and assemble an army to resist the invasion. This forms the premise of the movie.

THE GOOD:

Cora, played by Sofia Boutella, delivers a commendable performance, fitting the role perfectly. After seeing her in many negative roles, she doesn't come across as an odd choice by any means.

The fight scenes shown in the trailer are worth watching, and Boutella possesses the physicality to execute them well.

The CGI and world-building live up to the mark, a notable achievement in an era where CGI often falls short.

The concept is not entirely new, but it had the potential to be one of the best, though it doesn't quite reach that level.

THE BAD:

The excessive use of slow motion detracts from the impact of action scenes, serving to drag out the scenes rather than enhance them. I hope the director recognizes this and addresses it.

The plot essentially comes to a standstill after the initial establishment. Cora fights back at the village, and then the rest of the movie becomes a series of recruitments, with one warrior joining another. Instead of introducing too many characters and their motives, it should have been a journey for Cora and her fight with some help.

The climax is anticlimactic, occurring sooner than expected. While the director may have intended to surprise the audience, it backfired. Instead of the promised epic battle, the audience gets a regular fight.

OVERALL:

Is "Rebal Moon" a worthy watch? Yes, it is. It has great setups, amazing CGI, and some impressive action scenes.

However, it may feel lengthy at times, but it's not the worst movie out there. You can handle it; the only disappointment would be the climax.
